October new editions

Print News The first volume of Mertz and the book on Huerta are now finished! Both books have become much more than originally expected. We are in the process of getting both printed and final release should be within 2 weeks.

Click "Read more..." below for details.

The first volume of Mertz Opern-Revue will be released at Brian Torosian's Mertz Festival at the end of October. After the Festival it will be available through the Online Store. The second volume is in production now. We would like to make the first four volumes available before the end of this year to coincide with the bicentennial of Mertz's birth, but as these are very detailed facsimile editions time constraints may push release dates into 2007. The price for each volume will be $19.95 and will be 80-100 pages. Volume 1 is 90 pages.

The Huerta book is now called "A. T. Huerta: Life and Works" due to the fact that half of the book consists of a detailed chronology, list of known works, portraits and caricatures, and more. We have also added works dedicated to Huerta by S. Pratten, Sor and Verini. The book is 182 pages. The price will be $29.95 [ed: previous price in this post was wrong].

PDF previews of both books will be available soon and posted to the home page.

I mentioned in previous news posts that I was looking into other printing options for the books. After much consideration it was decided that a number of future editions will be done through Lulu.com (DGA at Lulu). This is a print-on-demand service and through many tests I can affirm that the quality is very good. With Lulu handling orders, printing and shipping this will allow me to continue a steady production of editions. The Huerta book will be the first edition available in this manner. Mertz and Bobrowicz will be available through my own Online Store.
