The latest issue of the Guitar Foundation of America's journal Soundboard arrived today. Marc Van de Cruys and I submitted an article and the engraving of Zani de Ferranti's Divertissement sur trois Romances Anglaises favorites. Unfortunately Soundboard's editors did not use the revised version of the article. There is no definitive information on which of the editions used as reference is the earlier edition. I am supplying the revised version text here. A thorough review of other prints from the same series by Ferranti shows that numerous reprints in different cities must have been undertaken. Without access to detailed records of Schott's publishing activities timing and location of the prints cannot be ascertained.

Perhaps fortune will favor me and the Rischel copy will turn out to be the earlier edition. In the meantime I offer a more appropriate version of the text.
